Thank you so much for posting this! It worked for me!

Perhaps soon NextGen will include a back end option to display title and/or description in the thumbnail view. It seems like a rather glaring omission in what is otherwise a fabulous plugin.

Apologies!!

I’m using the gallery-caption.php template, I should have made the changes here rather than in gallery.php. must’ve done this right last time then lost the changes in an update.

Excellent tutorial!! thanks very much.

P.S. I do have another problem with the gallery which I’ve been trying to solve for a couple of months, it’s off this subject heading so I won’t post it here. I wondered if you might help me with it (you seem code savvy!). If your willing please email me and I’ll get back to you with problem.

Hi,

I’ve tried this a few times now. But no luck. Not sure what to say as I’ve followed your instructions exactly. I tried it a a few months ago and it worked then it disappeared as I was working on the site!!

I tried re-creating the thumbs to see if that was it but no luck. Am I missing anything?

Hi,
I am trying to find a way of displaying captions (description text) when people click on the image (large view) or during slide show BUT NOT under thumbnails.

Anyone know best way of doing this?

I have zero php code knowledge but i can copy and paste : )

This fix is a couple of years old at this point – I’ve just relaunched my company and branding at http://www.narasopamedia.com and am probably going to move this info over to http://wordpresshowto.org – when I do that I’ll update it and make sure it works…
